Man in the Mirror...

Following the Biggie & ATCQ Legends mix series, I've been meaning to work on the next one. I guess now is good as anytime to work on MJ's mix. So, I finally had a bit of free time to get back on my tables. Here's my take on MJ's music. These are Jams that I love and grew up listening to.
Usually, when I hear of a celebrity passing away, I just think to myself "oh..that sucks" and don't give much thought. But with the news of MJ's passing, I felt like a family member or a close friend has died. Playing these jams and watching all the Music videos they have been showing on MTV brought back some good memories. Every DJ can probably attest to this.. that before the days of Serato, you never showed up to a gig(especially weddings) w/out the "Off the Wall" LP.
Just like New Editions' "Cool it now", MJ's "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" & "Rock with You" were a must play on rotation at every gigs & sets.

There are many, but this was my favorite performance of MJ... Because of this video, I wasted so much time practicing the "moon walk" as a kid. I never did master the art of moon walking...

Favorite MJ song of all time...

Growing up, there were 2 cartoons that I never missed(at least not by choice) G.I. Joe was one and Transformers was another. Caught an 4PM showing of the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (no line) Well... Honestly, I wasn't all that "wow"ed... I mean, I just didn't get that same "that sh*t was awesome" feeling that I had after seeing the 1st Transformers Movie. All the new characters & special effects were definitely cool, but there were some major corny lines and scenes. Megan Fox was Hot, but I think she looked better in the first movie also. (People cheered when she was shown for the first time during the movie) Don't get me wrong.. I did enjoy the movie and I would definitely recommend it.. I just didn't think it was as impressive as when I saw the 1st one.
I guess, I shouldn't complain since it was Free. The theater had technical difficulty which had us sit thru previews 3 times before they figured out how to start the actual feature. Watching the trailers of "New Moon" three times in 30 mins is not what I call being entertained.

For those going to the Lakers Parade, here's the parade info site.
Also, if you are callin' in sick for work, don't get caught on TV camera.. =)

P.S. Dear LAPD,
If you see few ghetto, idiotic morons causing trouble at the Lakers parade, please feel free to use that taser gun or beat them down with a baton (Rodney King style). you have my full undivided support ...

Tasered.. you are on the ground!!!

HAHAHHA...(laughing @ the officer.. not the woman) "tasered...you are on the ground...get on the ground!!!"

If you are a 200+lb male cop confronting a fragile 72 y/o woman (who probably weighs half your body weight) and can't cuff her w/out having to use a tazer gun, your probably not fit for being a peace officer. (physically & psychologically) Perhaps you should be in different line of work. I mean, short of her reaching for a gun in her purse, or her lunging for your gun on your belt, really? taser was your next logical move??

Don't get me wrong.. I'm all for the cops following protocols, following the book. I appreciate the fact that they put their lives on the line in dangerous situations, dealing with low life scumbs of this world every day. Normally, I'm all for Police officer using a tazer (or any other tools granted to them) if the situation warrants it. see example here.
Believe me....I despise those stupid ignorant people who always cries foul or "excessive force" every time an officer has to use some kind of force. If a suspect deserved a beat down, I'm all for it. But, a 72 year old, unarmed woman?? All because she refused to sign a ticket?? because she was using excessive profanity?? granted she wasn't obeying any of the orders or ignored the warning of the taser, but still... you are twice her size!!! and she's probably twice your age!!!!

Good save...

Thank You Courtney Lee for Saving the Lakers on Game 2. I think it's safe to say that for about 0.6 seconds, everyone in LA had their heart skip a beat when that pass when up.

talking about save... Here's another great save...

DJ Hero...

With the E3 in full swing, there were some official announcement about upcoming "DJ hero" of the Guitar Hero fame. Most of the comments I've read up to now about this thing from the DJ's were generally negative. The typical.. "this is another toy for wanna be DJ's....etc...etc"
well, guess what? it is a toy. It's a video game. Not a real DJ equipment. I don't expect one to become a real DJ from playing with it. Do most of you expect to rip like Jimmy Hendrix after on a real guitar playing on GH or rockout on real drums like Travis Barker after drumming on GH???
I for one am looking forward to this game. My daughter and I spend quality time jammin' out to Guitar Hero games, so this would be just another game we can enjoy it together. And perhaps, maybe it will get her interest in DJ'ing..
It will be available for purchase on October 27, 2009 $119.99
